Chemicals, machinery and safety

Some of our content discusses fertilizers, weed killers and powered machinery. None of it replaces the manufacturer’s own instructions. Always read and follow the label on any fertilizer or herbicide before you use it, observe your state and local rules on pesticide application, and follow the operating and safety instructions supplied with any mower, trimmer, blower or other powered tool. Where we mention slope limits or machine handling we are describing published ratings, not certifying that a given machine is safe on your ground — that judgment is yours.
