Fairway&Fescue

Established for the back nine of life

Forgiving golf gear for a swing that has changed.

You played well for thirty years. Now the swing is slower, the hands ache and eighteen feels longer. We sort the gear by the problem you’re shopping around — and read the specs so you don’t have to.

The top of each list

One pick from each shelf

The gear that took the top spot in each of our roundups. Open a tile for the full comparison and the reasoning — or check the live price on Amazon right here.

Where it hurts

Sorted by the problem, not the product

Everyone else files golf gear by category. We file it by the thing that changed — a slower swing, sore hands, a back that can’t carry, feet that ache, eyes that strain.

The honest bit

We haven’t tested this gear. We’d rather say so.

Most senior golf guides open by telling you how many clubs they tested. We haven’t tested any of this gear, and we’d rather admit it than pretend. What we do instead is read the published specs — shaft weight, flex, loft, grip diameter, ball compression — put them side by side, and do the arithmetic on what actually suits a slower swing. Where somebody has genuinely measured this stuff, we link them.

The difference

What we do that the senior-gear sites don’t

Sorted by the body, not the box

Nobody else files golf gear by the constraint you're shopping around. If your hands hurt, start at grips. If you can't carry, start at carts. The organizing idea is the problem — because that's what you actually searched for.

Published specs, put side by side

We publish the numbers manufacturers bury — grip core sizes, shaft weights, ball compression — in comparison tables. The senior-gear pages that outrank us today have no specs on them at all. That's the gap we fill.

Live prices, dated and honest

Every price comes from Amazon's API and is stamped with the day we checked it. If our data is more than 48 hours old, the number vanishes and the button reads “Check price”. It never shows you a figure that has rotted.

A “skip this” in every roundup

Every product block names who should NOT buy it. Recommending against something is the cheapest honest signal there is, and almost no one in this space does it. We would rather lose the click than sell you the wrong club.

How this is funded

We earn a commission. Here’s exactly how that works.

Fairway & Fescue is funded by the Amazon Associates program. When you buy through one of our links we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. No brand pays us for placement, no manufacturer sends us gear, and no commission rate has ever changed a ranking — which is exactly why you’ll find a $25 ball ranked above a $50 one on this site.
